Al Sharpton's Ramlin' on Again....
Speaking on CNN on 11/25/14, Al Sharpton claims that Ferguson
Prosecutor Bob McCulloch did not properly cross-exam Darren Wilson on
the stand. However, how does he know when a grand jury investigation
is a closed procedure? He also claims that McCulloch put people on the
stand who did not see anything. That is not what McCulloch said in
his statement on 11/14/14. The prosecutor at one time, mentioned that
some bystanders who had claimed to see what happened turned out to not
have seen anything at all. In many cases, they were not even present
the night of the shooting. These "potential" witnesses had to be ruled
out as any use to the case. It was never stated that they were put in
front of the grand jury. McCulloch did mention that witnesses whose
stories were corroborated by the physical evidence were put on the
stand. In other words, only those credible witnesses who were most
likely telling the truth were questioned in front of the grand jury,
according to Bob McCulloch.
Listening to the prosecutors carefully
laid-out investigation the other night and his painstakingly
,methodical explanations, it is clear that this situation was not
taken lightly by his office. There was obvious evidence that Officer
Wilson was not the aggressor in the situation. After all, what would
he have to gain by suddenly pulling over on the street, picking a
fight with some black kid and shooting him dead? Michael Brown was not
shot in the back as some people in the media had claimed. There is
evidence of his DNA and blood inside of the police car, which agrees
with the officer's assertions that Brown was reaching in the car
assaulting the police officer.
Some people do not want to accept the
truth, no matter how clear it is. They just don't care about the actual facts. Emotions rule instead. It is irresponsible for the media, public figures and false witnesses to continuously make reports about particular incidents that never happened just to build a case in order to receive satisfaction and reparations for past offenses, not committed by the accused.
There is also no excuse for the damage being done to businesses and personal property belonging to people who had nothing to do with the case at all. However, there does seem to be a current trend of hatred and resentment toward people who make an effort to be educated, successful and who take responsibility for their own lives. Their lives are better, so it is okay to destroy what they own.

Ready to ignore the people
On March 28, 2011 Obama said, "With respect to the notion that I can just suspend deportation through executive orders, that's just not the case....There are enough laws on the books by Congress that are very clear in terms of how we have to enforce our immigration system that for me to simply through executive order ignore those congressional mandates would not conform with my appropriate role as president."
My oh my, how we have done a 180 Mr. President.

Shut Down the Duggars?
Love them or hate them, you have to admit the Duggars are far from being evil, harmful people. Some people enjoy watching every episode and some will not watch at all. That is a matter of personal choice, which we thankfully have in the United States.
We also have the right to take up petitions as part of the due process of the government. However, the government does not run the media ( thankfully), which is a free enterprise. But, a petition has been started asking for reality show, "19 Kids and Counting" to be shut down.
Apparently, the Duggars have expressed their own ( first amendment right) opinion on marriage and that has angered some people ( most of whom do not even watch the show or care for them to begin with).
It seems that some groups in out country cannot stand it when others express an idea that does not flow with their own ideas and opinions. Wouldn't you call that being a little thin-skinned? We are Americans and should be tougher than that and able to handle opposing viewpoints without falling to pieces.
The Duggars do no harm to anyone. Don't like them, don't watch their show.
The gays do no harm to anyone. Don't like gay marriage, than don't attend a gay wedding.
Criticize the Duggars if you want, but don't shut their right to speak. Criticize gays if you want, but don't shut down their right to speak. ( and get over being criticized, it happens to everyone!)
It is that simple. Everyone doing their own thing and saying what they want to say is part of the American way. Deal with it. Live with it.

Nurse Kaci Hickox: Individual Desires Versus the Public Health
Nurse Kaci Hickox was released from her enforced quarantine in Newark New Jersey after retaining a lawyer to start action on a civil rights lawsuit. She was released despite the fact that it has not yet been 21 days since she was exposed to the Ebola virus while helping stricken patients in West African. This is also irregardless of the fact that New York and New Jersey have mandated a quarantine period for all those arriving in the country from West Africa. Although Ms. Hickox has tested negative twice for the virus, there is still a possibility that Ebola indeed resides in her body and is not yet detectable. http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs103/en/
Hopefully, Nurse Hickox has not caught Ebola from her patients, for her sake and the sake of others. The two Texas nurses have been very blessed to be cleared of the virus that they caught while treating Eric Duncan. However, Ebola still has a very high mortality rate, even with treatment. It also appears that young adults have a better chance of surviving than small children and older people. So, the question remains, is Ms. Hickox being whiny and selfish by refusing to follow the quarantine and playing it safe? Or should she be permitted to make her own choice regarding a situation that could possibly have dire consequences for others? We have already had several exposed medical workers take a chance by traveling on public transportation. Why? Why will these giving and kind health workers not stay put after they have been exposed to a horrible deadly virus? Why take the chance? Are their personal liberties and desires more important than the health of others?
As much as I believe in civil rights, the public health and safety needs to be put first when it comes to such a deadly disease. We need to err on the side of caution and any health worker, who I am sure cares about the safety others should be readily willing to cooperate for the common good. Quarantine is a minor inconvenience compared to the possible devastation that can could be caused if Hickox turns out to have Ebola a week from now. It may or may not be caught through casual contact. But, I personally would not take the chance of sickening anyone else if there was even a remote possibility that I had a deadly disease. I just don't think I am special enough to be an exception. Maybe Nurse Hickox thinks she is though.

Falsely Accused
Most everyone would agree that the crimes of child abuse and sexual abuse are among the most abhorrent of all. In our society, people who commit these heinous acts are placed in the same status as murderers and rightly so.
However, is it not just as bad to falsely accuse someone of committing these horrible acts of trauma and societal taboo? When someone uses allegations as a weapon of revenge or power against an innocent person, are they just as horrible as a person who would actually molest a child? What could someone do to possibly deserve being labeled and ruined in such a way?
The reason I ask is because it has happened to innocent people. There are some renowned cases, such as the McMartin Preschool staff, who were eventually exonerated after being put through years of hell.
Many of these investigations are ignited by parents seeking sole custody of children or attempting to get back at the other parent for leaving the relationship. ( Woody Allen/ Mia Farrow).
Other, more local and lesser known cases have been started by feuding friends and neighbors reporting each other to social services for allegedly abusing or neglecting children.
Should someone accused of harming a child be thoroughly investigated? Yes. Should they suffer damage, lose their jobs or pay huge legal costs if there is not a substantial amount of evidence against them? No.
Why shouldn't the backgrounds of the accusing adults be heavily investigated also? It could be easy to make an accusation, coerce a child into going along with it and planting pornographic evidence. There needs to be safeguards and further due process in place for these situations because of the easily ruinous nature of a false allegation. Police investigators, courts and social services should be required to look at all the dynamics and social circumstances surrounding a case.
Perpetrators who truly do harm children should absolutely be caught and punished to the full extent of the law. The very idea of what they do sickens most decent people and rightly so. But, those manipulators who are aware of how society cannot stand or tolerate abusers can and will use that to their advantage and happily ruin someone's life to exact their petty vindictiveness or get what they want. It is a powerful weapon that is placed in the wrong hands sometimes by our social services organizations and judiciary systems.
A true victim of abuse needs to be protected, but so does an accused innocent. The system has to change. The media has to stop fueling the stories, employers need to look at both sides thoroughly and the accusers should be held accountable.
